Important changes to the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015 (SBEE Act)

The Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015, or SBEE for short, was passed on the 26th of March 2015. The bill is aimed at small businesses and covers a lot of different areas including insolvency, disqualification, public procurement, finance and employment. It is intended to aid small business competition, improve access to finance and increase opportunity for growth as well as increasing liability for company directors.

Employment law reforms confirmed in Queen’s Speech

The Queen’s Speech has set out the Government’s plans for the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill which, from an employment law perspective, will overhaul the workplace dispute resolution system to facilitate the earlier resolution of disputes via a more efficient and streamlined employment tribunal system.
