CJAM supports women’s running charity with free kit
Here at CJAM we like to support good causes, and particularly when we can help towards improving people’s health and wellbeing. Our colleague Lisa Dalton has taken the lead in sourcing excess running kit from her local running club to donate to A Mile in her Shoes, a great charity that helps women from all walks of life to enjoy the benefits of running.Lisa encouraged her fellow runners at Sudbury Joggers Running Club to dig through their wardrobes for unused running clothes, and collected 50 pieces of kit, all in good condition. We’ve got everything from running tights, shorts, vests and t-shirts to trainers and hats! The CJAM team is now shipping them to the charity’s offices in London.
A Mile in her Shoes supports disadvantaged women who may be at risk of homelessness by helping them to try running as a way of exercising, socialising and boosting their self-esteem. The charity helps participants to overcome any barriers along the way, allowing them to enjoy the mental, physical and social benefits, just as other runners do.
Trained female volunteers deliver running fitness groups for all abilities, so even absolute beginners can get involved and have fun running. A Mile in her Shoes works with participants to help them reach their goals and welcomes donations of second hand running kit from running clubs across the UK.
Keep up the good work, ladies!
